Reliving 2012

The Year 2012 is, by far, the best 365 days I ever experienced to date. It's a year of many firsts--surfing, travelling alone to unfamiliar places, being featured on international TV, leaving the conventional working paradigm, getting fat and finally falling within the acceptable weight for my height, and yeah, living like a nomad. For these and for some other reasons, I couldn't be more thankful.

For this year, I learned that the more you share your blessings and talent to others, the more fulfillment and inner peace you get. It's the time when I realised that the direction and quality of your life depend on the decisions that you make . . . and that if you follow your heart's desires, you will never regret things even if they do not turn out the way you want them to be. Better things will come anyway.

I am excited where 2013 will bring me. I'm prepping up for more craziness, more spontaneity, and more happiness. I hope you can join me in one of my crazy adventures one day. In the meantime, please enjoy some photos of the many things that happened to me in 2012.

Cheers!

January: Ditched Sinulog and went to Siargao to learn how to surf. Although the weather was bad, I still had fun trying to balance on the board as the waves try to crush and undress me. Haha

February: The month was filled with travels to Bantayan Island, Negros, Iloilo, and Guimaras. All the stress and low water intake seriously infected my left kidney so I had to hurry back to Cebu and admit myself (yes, I brought myself to the emergency room) to the hospital.

March: I attended two weddings of my close friends, spoke as graduation speaker in two schools, and attended the graduation of our scholars (I was a development worker at that time). I had the worst birthday (broken phone, missed flight, empty stomach, most time spent on the road) but before the last hour of the day, I got the chance to celebrate it with my friends in Tacloban.

April: Aside from climbing mountains and going to beaches, I also saw myself on international TV (France 24). Probably my only exposure unless I become a celebrity. LOL (Video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtlb6HJrBMA)

May: I am from Negros but I actually didn't get the chance to explore the whole of the island. So in May 2012, my sisters and I had a road trip to the south and visited a beautiful and underrated beach in Sipalay.

August: I never thought I'd survived the adrenaline-rushing and buwis-buhay white water rafting in Cagayan de Oro. It was my first time in the city. My sisters and I attended a wedding and I got to bond with one of my closest college friends, Ivy. :D

August: My three-year champion team lost during the UP Cebu Cheerdance competition. The taste of defeat was bittersweet but not painful.

September: In the service of the Canlaonians.

October: My sister who works in Africa finally returned home. The entire family went to Bohol to celebrate her homecoming.

December: The last month of the year was the busiest for me. It was filled with airplane rides, long hours on the road, and bonding with old friends. I went to Manila for the first time and met up with my best friends; vacationed to Coron, Palawan to feed giraffes, run with zebras, and to see shipwrecks and beautiful, live corals; visited Cebu to chitchat with some people close to my heart; attended our alumni homecoming and laughed with beautiful individuals from my high school; and spent a lot of time with my loved ones.

Enough said.

Here's me greeting you a very prosperous 2013!

For I will always seize the day, no matter what. :D
